The hotel was placed in the central location very close to a shopping centre. New-fashioned and bright units with a spotless bathroom, comfortable beds, as example, and the stuff where accommodating.

Trevor

The staff was helpfull with tourbookings and information. The bed was comfortable.
I was dissapointed that I had to pay for busshuttle (while even almost every backpackers offers a free one) . And the cleaner did not notice a cockroach laying dead in the middle of the bathroom.

The resort staff was really friendly and the pool set up was nice.
The room was fairly simple and for the most part clean. We did however find many little ants or other small bugs. This hotel was a 15 minute drive from the city center, however if you are planning to do a lot of day trips to the reef, horseback riding, or to the rainforest, most companies will send a shuttle to pick you up and drop you off for the day. The hotel does offer a shuttle to the city center but the times are not always the most convenient and it still costs aud $4 per person, per ride. Or you can get a 3 day pass for $15 per person. A taxi will cost approximately $16 one way. For the price though it was not bad at all.

There was no soap, shampoo/conditioner or any of the normal accompaniments in my room. When I arrived I asked to book a taxi to the airport for 4.30 am the next morning. I was not told that a courtesy bus was leaving at that time. In fairness, when I raised this with reception the next morning they eventually offered to cancel my taxi and put me on the courtesy bus. I cannot understand why I was not informed about the courtesy bus the night before when I asked to order the taxi

The hotel was very nice, more than comfortable and clean. You have a coffee and tea maker, a little refrigerator, a table with 2 chairs, a modern bathroom plus all the rooms seem to have a little balcony with view over one of the two pools. Easy to get from the airport and to get to the many outdoor activities in Cairns, the hotel is in a safe neighborhood. The staff was nice and helpful even if we did check-in around midnight. They have a little bus stop in front of the hotel for the tour operators to pick-you and drop you if you take a day tour to the Great barrier or else.
You are not directly in Cairns center but it is not far to get there. There is very few parking spots (3 or 4) but you can park without problem in the street in front of the hotel.

Room was good. Pool looked great. Breakfast special was good value
Not having an on-site restaurant was a negative but understandable with current occupancy levels.
